About Amdahl
Amdahl offers a single API that enables companies to build self-improving GTM agents. As more companies deploy sales- and marketing-facing agents in front of buyers, Amdahl's API evaluates and continuously refines what those agents say based on what reliably closes deals and increases conversion in your pipeline. Amdahl catches the inaccurate, off-brand, or off-strategy drift in responses before they ever reach a prospect, so teams can trust the AI they ship to drive revenue instead of creating risk. Founded by Annette Sung (CEO) and Arya Soltanieh (CTO), the company runs lean, which is exactly why an agent that can absorb the admin load made such a dramatic difference.
A founder's real problem: the cognitive load
Ask any early-stage founder where their time goes, and you'll hear some version of what Annette describes: the work that matters least eats the hours that matter most.
"As an early-stage founder, a lot of my time goes into ops and admin work, which is really bad for my cognitive load because it’s not the highest-ROI use of my time," she says. On top of running internal and external meetings and doing her own deep work, Annette currently acts as the company's main admin and CFO function. “ The context-switching is a huge burden. It hurts my performance, and it hurts the company's performance."
That's the wedge an executive assistant or Chief of Staff normally fills, if you can afford one, and if you can find one who's genuinely good. Annette found that capability in an agent instead. She describes Automat’s Workforce agent (named Dom in this case study) this way:
A Chief of Staff who graduated from an Ivy League school that we're paying a lot less for. He (the agent) is a very proactive, context-aware member of our team.
- Annette Sung, CEO at Amdahl.
Meet Dom: proactive, intelligent, and relentless
Proactive
The example she brought up wasn’t something she’d set up; it’s something the agent did on its own before she asked.
“I was digging for a legal memo today. As organized as I thought I was, I just couldn’t seem to locate the document. And Dom went looking on his own. He went through my docs in Mercury and Carta, my emails, my DocuSign, even a Box account and a couple of weird eSign tools I'd been trying - things I didn't remember existed. He found the executed commitment I was looking for."
Then: "I just said, 'Hey Dom, upload this to Google Drive, update the record,' and he knew."
Proactiveness also shows up in the tedious-but-critical cadences that usually slip. After every sales call, the agent "automatically creates an internal and external channel for the account, pins the call recordings, takes notes on the next steps, and logs those to our Linear.
Our system of records was maintained and up-to-date without us reminding it.
Intelligent
Annette's team stress-tested Dom the way engineers stress-test anything new, by trying to break it. "A lot of our team members would try to push him to his limits and see how far we could go. That was actually a pretty fun experiment." Their verdict:
He's snappy, reactive, fast, and context-aware. He's smart. - Annette
The clearest proof was a week of paired programming. "We gave Dom his own credit card and his own Claude Code account and had him code using the Claude Code harness. Our CTO would review his code and give him instructions to improve, and they developed an interesting mentorship relationship." What made it work for a company like Amdahl was Dom's ability to hold two kinds of expertise at once:
It would pair the go-to-market expertise with the technical expertise, understand both worlds, and implement the mental frameworks from both of us.
He’s an agent that can "execute tasks, function as an independent contributor, and also function as a manager, an S-tier chief of staff who recognizes priorities and stakeholders across a range of functions."
Relentless
What Annette trusts most is that things get finished. "If there's an urgent admin task, say contacting Salesforce support, I don't want to think about it every single day until it's done, and we all know that's a multi-day process. I just tell Dom this is urgent, high-priority, get on it until it's done. He'll call, email, and search the internet for different ways to resolve it, and he'll find his own way to get it done. Whenever he needs me to approve something, he lets me know."
One early project captures the payoff. Dom spun up his own email and reached out to the customer-support teams at all of our software vendors to manage twelve subscriptions, cutting, adding, and applying credits. That would have been two Sundays of my time that would never have happened.
As CEO, that's all you want - teams you can trust that the work will get done, no matter what. - Annette
What makes it different? Built for the enterprise, with a real computer
The team had tried other agents. What set Dom apart was that he could actually operate the tools a real employee uses, and that she felt safe letting him.
"A generic bot logs into Gusto, Gusto sends a verification code I have to paste in, and the bot gets stuck. Because Dom has access to real devices and tools, if a 2FA comes to my SMS, he handles it. I'd describe Dom as a very hands-free bot that can drive the outcome you'd want as a user, because he can find the ways and corners to get the job done." Since Dom got his own phone number, "he really has access to devices, software, and operating systems the same as any human employee, and that opens up the range of things he can do."
The second half of the differentiator is trust.
"What's powerful about Dom versus a more consumer-friendly bot is that I know he's designed for the enterprise. We hold a lot of sensitive data, we're a company that serves other businesses, and a breach would be detrimental to our reputation. Knowing it's built for a business setting, for businesses that serve other businesses, is reassuring. We've tried to get him to misbehave, and we've been pretty creative, and we have yet to find the loophole. The guardrails are there, and they hold." She gives Dom read access to sensitive systems, and super-admin access to the rest.
